How Universities Fail to Die

Universities in the Western world are nine centuries old, with the oldest being the University of Bologna (1088). In this talk Associate Professor Tyron Love will outline how universities endure, and explain why, in a year when the entire university sector is being reviewed in Aotearoa New Zealand, there is very little threat to its existence.

Bio

Dr Tyron Love (Te Ātiawa) is an Associate Professor in Management at the University of Canterbury Business School. His research area is Indigenous Organisation Studies and mostly focusses on how Indigenous peoples experience Western institutions. His current focus is on how Māori and Native academics/faculty experience universities.
