Is AI Ready to Replace You?

Artificial intelligence has been a concept since the 1950s, beginning with Alan Turing’s famous paper “Computer Machinery and Intelligence” and John McCarthy coining the term in 1956. Interest in AI has surged in the past five years, driven by the rise of Large Language Models, Generative AI, and Artificial General Intelligence. As AI continues to evolve at breakneck speed, a common question arises: "How long until AI does my job better?" This talk will explore AI's current capabilities, its future direction, and whether or not we have something to fear.
