Murder in the Colony - Reported Murders in South Australia in the late 1800s

After publishing his book "Murder in the Colony" detailing the 391 reported murders (117 of them being children) in South Australia between 1836 and 1886, hear Paul talk about some of the differences in these investigations compared to how investigations are undertaken today. Some of the differences include changes in the legal system and medical treatment of the victims. Paul has also recorded details of over 2,000 murders committed in South Australia, and he will detail various trends and statistics from 1836 to present day.

Bio

Paul Tucker was born into a military service family and in his younger years he lived in England, Europe and South-East Asia. In 1990 he joined the South Australia Police. Since 2003 he was attached to the Major Crime Investigation Branch (MCIB) and has investigated over 150 suspicious death and murder scenes and has reviewed several cold cases, including the Family Murders. Paul has been awarded the National Police Service Medal, the National Medal, the Australian Defence Medal and the South Australian Police Service Medal.
