Fabulous facts about faces!

Faces are a key aspect of social communication. We often identify people from their faces and use their facial movements to help us understand what they might be feeling. In this talk, Romina Palermo will provide some fabulous facts about faces and answer questions, such as: Why do some people find it more difficult to recognise faces? Can we really tell what people are feeling from their facial expressions? Do people judge how trustworthy people are from a quick glance at their face? Has COVID affected our face perception skills? Can machines read faces better than humans?

Bio

Romina is an Associate Professor at The University of Western Australia and has spent years researching faces to understand the perceptual, cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying person perception.
