What dogs can do for us

Pets might be feathers, fur or fin, but you don’t take your goldfish for a walk. This talk will highlight how our furry four-legged canine friends help us to be more active physically and improve our social and mental health.

Bio

Hayley Christian is an Associate Professor at the Telethon Kids Institute and The University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on improving children’s physical activity, health and wellbeing through interventions focused on the child, the family, and social and built environments. A focus of this work involves the health benefits of dog ownership and creating urban environments that support people walking with their dog.
