A touchy subject - South Australia and sex work laws
A touchy subject – South Australia and sex work laws.
It is often called one of the oldest professions in the world.
And while it may be a ‘touchy” subject for some - like it or not – sex work will always be around.
So why does South Australia - which has been a leader in terms of many other progressive debates - have the most outdated laws on sex work in Australasia?
In this talk, Greens MLC Tammy Franks MLC will explain her many attempts to update and reform the state’s “archaic” laws.
In her words: “South Australian law must match reality and, most importantly, protect the rights of people who work in the industry.”
She is joined on the night by Georgia Thain of SIDAC (Sex Industry Decriminalisation Action Committee).
