Achieving equality
Equality is a goal that both guides us and divides us. We all want to be treated equally and fairly, though we may not always treat others as we ourselves want to be treated. When it comes to equality in Australia, many would say that there are outcomes which are far from fair. Let’s explore the principles of societal equality and dip into a few examples, such as; the distribution of wealth and income, poverty and access to housing and jobs. What would it take to get to a more equal society? And what are the barriers that we must overcome to achieve equality?
