Why a focus on mental wellbeing makes all the difference

Mental health has never been more important. Traditionally, we've focused on the negative sides of mental health, or mental illness, while overlooking the positive states of mental health, or mental wellbeing. Mental wellbeing is such an important resource in our lives, just like sleep, nutrition, and physical activity, and it can be built and practiced. Matthew will introduce the science of mental wellbeing, how it differs from mental illness, and why that's so important. Matthew will describe some basic skills and habits that we can all use to improve our mental wellbeing, and highlight some of the work being conducted at SAHMRI's Wellbeing and Resilience Centre.
