Murder, Violence and Psychopathy in South Australia

Having conducted forensic psychological evaluations as a medico-legal expert in some of the most notorious cases in legal history in South Australia over the past 15 years, Forensic Psychologist Luke Broomhall will provide insights into the practice of forensic personality profiling. With reference to South Australian cases, Luke will outline the dominant theoretical paradigms murder and violent behaviour, including the concept of psychopathy.

Bio

Luke Broomhall is a Forensic Psychologist who has worked in Correctional facilities in NSW and in SA and in private practice since 2007. Luke has conducted personality profiling and criminogenic risk assessments in some of the most complex criminal matters in South Australia. His expert medico-legal opinion is regularly sought in legal circles and he is one of few Forensic Psychologists consulted where individuals seek to be assessed for suitability to have reporting restrictions altered under the Child Sex Offenders Registration Act.

Luke has conducted personality profiling assessments in complex criminal matters in South Australia and provides expert medico-legal opinion. His opinion is regularly sought in legal circles when examining the impact of personality and mental health problems in criminal behaviour. He is currently the Director of PsychCheck; providing pre-employment Psychological Suitability Assessments for government and private organisations. 

Luke has a particular interest in managing complex personality issues in the workplace (including ‘corporate psychopathy’), developing individual skills for success in leadership and training in managing mental health in the workplace.
