The dark side of gaming
Video gaming addiction is casting a dark shadow over the lives of countless teenagers in Australia – and the grasp extends far beyond academic performance and anti-social behaviour.
Dr Kim Le is a psychiatrist and director of telehealth practice CGI Clinic specialising in helping gamers – particularly young men – differentiate between a lucrative e-sports career or obsession.
Kim will guide you through the dark world and intricacies of highly-addictive games such as Fortnite and outline why many gamers lose control of their gaming time.
From serious neck pain to physical exhaustion requiring hospitalisation, the impacts of gaming are no match for the powerful video games publishers which invest millions of dollars in an ultra competitive industry.
